Dr. Magassy is one of the Washington area’s best-known and most highly regarded plastic surgeons. His Washington area practice of cosmetics has attracted patients from all over the world. Dr. Magassy’s well-deserved reputation is of an outstanding ability to combine the discipline of the surgical science with the practiced judgment and aesthetic perception so necessary to excel as a premier plastic surgeon.
Originally from Hungary, Dr. Magassy emigrated to the U.S. as a youth and became an American citizen in 1956. He received his medical degree from Creighton University in Nebraska, completed his general surgery residency at Washington Hospital Center and his plastic surgery residency at the University of California in San Francisco. He established his medical practice in 1972.
Dr. Magassy is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS) and is a Diplomat of, as well as a Board Certified Member of the American Board of Plastic Surgery (ABPS). He is a member of numerous plastic surgery associations, including the American Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons (ASPRS), the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS), the Lipoplasty Society of North America (LSNA), and the National Capital Society of Plastic Surgeons.
Other memberships include those in the American Medical Association, Fairfax County Medical Society, Montgomery County Medical Society, Flying Physicians Association, International College of Surgeons, and the Royal Society of Medicine.
Dr. Magassy is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Plastic Surgery at George Washington University Medical Center and at Georgetown Medical Center. His hospital affiliations include Inova Fairfax Hospital, Sibley Memorial Hospital and Suburban Hospital.
Dr. Magassy is an accomplished equestrian, and a skilled skier and biker. After his years as a Thunderbird pilot in the US Air Force, Dr. Magassy retains his love of flying and flies his own Cessna P210.
